(a
facility of the Department of Social Services). Within the WRC
structure, the County Self-Sufficiency Services offers job development,
placement, and retention services to CalWORKs participants.
CalWORKs is the cash assistance program available to families who
meet the federal and state criteria. You can apply at the WRC
site for CalWORKs assistance. If you are eligible to CalWORKs,
you will be assigned to a Welfare-to-Work Career Employment Specialist
who will assist in your employment needs. This Specialist will
support you in your efforts to achieve self-sufficiency for your family.
We can assist with training needs, career assessment, child care,
transportation, and job placement. Once you have obtained a
job, we can assist you in keeping your job and preparing for promotion
or advancement. County Self-Sufficiency Services works closely
with the other Workforce Resource Center partners to access other
resources, whether or not you are CalWORKs eligible. If we find
you are not eligible to CalWORKs we can refer you to other partner
agencies for assistance.
